The LOOKOUT! team is made up of more than 30 highly experienced researchers, who have extensive experience of delivering research projects to multinational, international and SME businesses in a variety of sectors. This includes automotive, leisure, power, publishing, retail, sports and technology serving clients in Africa, Australasia, America, Asia and Europe.
Without further ado, please let us introduce our fabulous core team:
Eugene – Founder
More than two (though we all know it is really three!) decades’ experience in project management, client management and managing and delivering research projects for clients such as Hilton Hotels, PennWell and a number of investors. Known for his soft Irish lilt and his preference for a pint of the black stuff (though only in his native land!). Has been known to undertake crazy adventures such as trekking up Kilimanjaro and distance cycling in Cuba.
John – Project Manager
A project manager with experience across the IT and NGO sectors, including working in East Africa for a number of years overseeing regeneration projects. John is proficient in project management techniques, holding Prince2 certification and translates this experience all the way from the lifecycle of projects to bossing us around the 5-a-side pitch (well that’s his opinion!) John is the avid golfer of the team, enjoying a round when the weather (and projects!) allows it.
Dawn – Senior Research Director
More than 25 years’ experience working in marketing and research with past roles including Head of Insight Deployment & Head of Business Intelligence at Brother UK. Dawn has lived in Germany, Colorado and Tennessee as well as all over the UK. She believes passionately in continuous learning and trying new things has also led to her flying over erupting volcanoes, yomping over arctic tundra and feeding stingrays in the Caribbean.
Jo – Research Director
Quantitative market research specialist with 20+ years’ experience in Financial Services, Utilities, Retail and B2B. Her depth of knowledge covers customer profiling and segmentation, customer experience / satisfaction, new product and service development. Jo believes in combining both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to ensure thorough and in-depth insights are delivered to clients.
Lorraine – Research Director
A Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), with over 25 years’ experience in both marketing and research, Lorraine combines desk research skills with customer insight to provide strategic direction. She has worked in both the B2B and FMCG sectors, with previous roles including Marketing Manager at Perstorp Warerite, where she formed part of a European development team, and Senior Qualitative Researcher (interim) at Hallmark. She enjoys hiking and exploring, loves learning languages and has taken part in a charity trek to the Peruvian Andes.
Claire – Research Manager
A Chartered Marketer with over 12 years’ experience in marketing, customer insight and CRM experience. She has an extensive background in qualitative research across a number of sectors including B2B, FMCG, Leisure and Education. Claire is fully versed in deploying a variety of qualitative techniques to generate customer insights including online communities, focus groups, consumer panels and depth interviews
Dave – Research Manager
A researcher’s researcher, Dave brings a “true” academic approach to research projects having honed his skills working with Salford University before going on to run key projects for the likes of the North West Development Association. Dave is partial to the finer things in life, particularly fine ale and classic cars.
Shomayla, Research Assistant
A science enthusiast, pharmacology graduate and about to become a double postgraduate, Shomayla is a market researcher with an eye for detail. Her 4 years’ management and retail experience coupled with excellent research skills helps her to develop customer acquisition strategies. She is an avid reader and traveller with a hankering for adventure sports and new cuisine, though we are not sure that they should be undertaken simultaneously!
Nicolas, Research Assistant
As an Electronic Engineer and MBA of The University of Manchester, Nicolas likes to combine his background in the Finance Industry with his technology savvy to try to solve business challenges. When he is not researching subjects related to innovation, new business ideas and technology, he likes to daydream on his Start-up that would change the world!
